First Step Kep

Writing | June 9, 2009

Kep Keller is not my name.

For that matter, the pseudonym itself has no real meaning. I have nothing to hide, and I don't intend to write anything that will warrant an ass-kicking - rather, anything I believe will be ass-kick worthy. The advantage of a pen name, though, is that I can write inconsistently, poorly, or not at all, and no one can say that I've fallen through on yet another writing endeavor. Plus I thought it sounded pretty cool. So as you can see, there are some advantages.

Blogging. I didn't think I had it in me. I've always perceived it as something reserved for the technology-dependent loner. But maybe that's what I've become. I feel intellectually isolated from others, if I don't openly appear to be. And that's not to say that I do more brain thinking than the next guy. It's just that I don't relate well to him. I've reserved most of my thoughts and opinions for myself - a way to defend myself from criticism, segregation, and inevitably, life as a technology-dependent loner. "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood." What Frost didn't tell us is that they have a habit of ending up in the same place.

So here I am. Performing for an audience that doesn't even exist. Writing in my diary and then showing all the kids at school. I don't necessarily want attention. Maybe just reassurance that I'm not the last man on Earth - that I'm sane, and the opinions and observations I make are not entirely unique.

Back me up guys. Be my wing men as I zero in on this fat skank that is life.
