Alright, so I bought the Steam version of Merchants of Brooklyn. It is running on the CryEngine 2 game engine. I'm currently running the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Beta. When I started up the game, I got this error on startup:
CryInput.dll cannot be loaded.
I was wondering why the hell it wasn't working. Windows 7 already comes with DirectX 11, and I had downloaded the .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 and the Visual C++ Redistributable 2008 SP1.
I decided to the folder of installation and start the game manually, this time it gave me this error:
- CryENGINE DX10 - Mar 12 2009 (10:49:43): Launcher.exe - System ErrorThe program can't start because XINPUT1_3.dll is missing from your computer. Try resinstalling the program to fix this problem.
A Google search gave me a link to a forum which was talking about this very thing, only for Windows XP 64 bit. This gave me the idea to download and install the Games for Windows Live Redistributable (version 1.2), and it worked like a charm.
