Getting to Canada on a Working Holiday Visa

For those under 30 the dream of living and working overseas is certainly a reality. For many years countries such as England, Ireland, Canada and parts of the EU have offered certain numbers of working holiday visas for under 30s. Just recently Canada changed its laws and now allows an unlimited number of visas to be processed for Australians each year.

Another recent change is that the visa has been extended from only 1 year in duration to two full years. This means those that really wish to settle into the country and have a proper experience can truly give it a good shot. On top of that, the visas can be continually renewed until the big 3-0. This is a huge boon for most young people, as finding a job becomes much more realistic if an almost unlimited working period is available.

The application process for Canadian visas is incredibly simple. A PDF form is simply completed and printed, posted off with 2 passport photos, a copy of the picture page of your passport, and a money order and in approximately 6 weeks it will be processed. An email is then sent to the individual's email account to be printed off and presented to customs upon entry into Canada - voila! All that's left to do is get to Canada, set up house, get a job and bob's your uncle.

More information on the entire process can be found here. There are quite specific requirements on photo sizes and payment methods so be sure to check it out.

Happy travels!
